I installed my silk sculptures at The coIN Loft office space at 6o5 N. Market St. in Wilmington last week. I want to thank Wes and Steve of the CoIN Loft for letting me work in their space. It was an awesome opportunity. The goal was to work out compositions and get some photos. Here you can see about 3 hours worth of work condensed into this short animation.
Here is the final installation. I’m still playing with titles, maybe, Algae Bloom or Algae Whirlpool.
I worked out a new configuration for the blue sculpture. I came up with something completely different from the 2 other ways it has been installed in the past. I am always just guessing on the length to make the lines and never sure how long it will take me to get something I like. I think this has a lot of energy which I really like.
These will both be installed at my upcoming show at the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts in Reading, PA, titled Oceans, Isles and Shoals. The show runs from March 9th through April 14th, 2013. Opening Reception, First Friday, March 8, 2013 from 5:30-7:30PM.
